Activities Department Updates

Though we have been missing seeing the smiling faces of our volunteers and residents, the Activities department has been making good use of our time since closing the office to non-employees. We really haven’t slowed down a bit and are very busy catching up on old projects, filing, organizing and planning for our future events. We have also come up with a few things for you to do to pass the time and share your creativity.

Below is a glimpse into how our time has been spent:

Rescheduling, postponing and canceling events

We have rescheduled and postponed as many events as we possibly can to later this year or to early 2021. Due to the fact that there are so many events, stay tuned to upcoming Reflections articles for more information.

IMPORTANT: Hold on to any cancelled Activities Event and Solivita University Course tickets to exchange for a letter of credit once we reopen our offices. At this current time, we are not offering any letters of credit for any Solivita University Annual Passes (Art & Literary Lectures and Great Decisions Discussions) as we are postponing lectures to another date.

Solivita Rays of Service Volunteer Appreciation 2019 – 2020 Season

We have not forgotten about all of the volunteers who help the Solivita departments throughout the year.  Volunteers will be receiving our thanks, in one way or another, coming soon.

Fall Arts and Crafts Festival – November 7, 2020

Vendor Applications have been finalized and will be sent out to our mailing list soon.  If you are an artisan or crafter who makes handmade items and you would like to receive a vendor application, email us your name, address, phone number to solivitafallfestival@gmail.com.

Solivita University Faculty

An email blast will be going out soon to all

 of the Solivita University Faculty to advise that their professor bios will no longer be listed in Reflections under the Solivita University section, but will be shown on SolivitaHOA.com under Get Connected and then Solivita University Faculty.

Inventory

Inventory of all equipment (ex. Computers, tables, picture frames, decorations, etc.) in the Club facilities, offices, and storage closets.

Coming up with fun things for you to do during this time

Thursday Movie Nights are back!  Starting Thursday, March 26^th at 7pm, the movie “The Good Liar” starring Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen will be shown on our community channel 732.  We are a week behind as we held the movie from March 19^th.  The movie advertised in Reflections newsletter for March 26^th, “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” will be postponed to a future date.  The movies listed in April Reflections newsletter will be shown on the community channel 732 at 7pm on the date advertised.  *Special thanks to Brandon Payne, Solivita’s Audio/Visual Specialist, for his countless hours and diligence in figuring out how to make this possible. 

Weekly Fun Activities Competitions.  We will send out a variety of fun activities for you to participate in.  Winners will be chosen, be acknowledged in an email blast and win prizes for their talent and creativity.
